sunday’s recipe: diy hand sanitizer

there is a lot of discussion these days around the topic of hand sanitizers and germs. in my opinion, i would rather use essential oils to clean my hands over chemicals that are found in your typical hand sanitizers. the following recipe is from diy natural. for this recipe i split the results into two 4 oz glass spray bottles.

sunday’s recipe
diy hand sanitizer

 5-10 drops lavender essential oil
30 drops tea tree essential oil
1 tablespoon witch hazel or high-proof vodka
8 ounces 100% pure aloe vera gel
1/4 teaspoon vitamin e oil (or i used sesame oil)
Processed with VSCOcam with t1 preset Processed with VSCOcam with t1 preset
i like to mix all of these ingredients into a glass measuring cup with a pour spout for easy pouring into the glass spray bottle. tea tree is an amazing essential oil with powerful cleansing abilities. it creates a protective barrier against germs without eliminating our body’s natural ability to fight germs. i learned from my aromatherapy 101 class that tea tree is antibiotic, antibacterial, anti-fungal, antimicrobial, and antiseptic.

i feel safe using this hand sanitizer knowing it is natural and chemical free. it also leaves your hands smelling great and feeling soft! enjoy!
